Epstein purchased a smaller island - Little St James - originally in the late 1990s, but later purchased the more expansive Great St James in 2016 for a sum of $22.5 million.
The released images indicate he had drawn up development schemes to develop the sprawling island by constructing living quarters, an performance venue, an office beneath the waves and a swimming pool.
Marked on the drawing is a local waterway, a waterway in the US Virgin Islands, indicated on the south-eastern section.
The site plan is annotated in red pen markings and includes a notes section identifying distinct sections of the estate.
Alongside the main plan are what seem to be an additional nine site drawings and architectural plans, featuring designs for dock shelters.
